Exclusive Forage Based Genetics
When the decision came to raise cattle one of my first thoughts was to create a hardy grass efficient breed of cattle combining the best of several breeds. In researching the different breeds of cattle I found that there were already many of the crosses I wanted to do out there.
The opportunity arose to purchase 18 head of black composite heifers. Still wanting to create a outstanding cross bred cattle my search continued for several more years which led me to a sale at the Figure 4 Cattle Company. That is where I was introduced to the Aubrac Breed of Cattle. The search was on to purchase a Fullblood Aubrac Bull. To my disappointment there were none available. Giving up was not an option, my cows needed a bull! After many calls to several Aubrac Breeders, SUCCESS!
My first purchase was an excellent 3/4 Renault bull from the Hunt Aubrac Ranch of Oxford, NE. Since then purchases include the Fullblood cow Seduire, 3 Fullblood heifers and a Purebred heifer from Wahoo Cattle Co.
With the ever growing demand for grass fed and grass finished beef I believe that the Aubrac Cattle will play a roll in creating a more grass efficient Cattle. It is my goal to raise elite Composites, Purebred and Fullblood Aubrac Cattle.
